Once the wax was sectioned we made the feed and vent systems, the sprue and vent design is critical, it must move the fluid bronze around the shell and allow any gasses to escape at the same time. The sprue design also helps control the casting temperature and avoid heat stresses and shrinkage. These peices are ready for investment.

At this point the waxes are pierced with stainless pins , these are designed to remain in the ceramic mold after the wax has been burned out and give the shell extra strength by locking the layers together.
